Holographic Recording

will hold almost 1.6 Terabytes of memory, read/write at speeds 10 times faster than a CD or DVD, function as Random Access Memory, and last up to 50 years. This new media will likely replace CDs, DVDs, and Hard Drives, all while costing the least cost per gigabyte of anything.

Hopefully Maxell comes through with this product. I can't wait.

Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race

My cousin, Sarah Kessans, and her friend Emily Kohl are competing in this year's Atlantic rowing race. This race starts in the Canary Islands and finishes in the West Indies, taking an average of 60 days to complete. The boat will be powered solely by rowing. I wish my cousin and her friend luck on this once in a lifetime and potentially dangerous adventure.

You can track Sarah and Emily's progress in the race or learn more about team American Fire.

They start the race today Wednesday.

The Past Week

Last Friday I saw the play The Cruicible performed, I thought it was very good and I enjoyed it even more than the book.

My mom bought the board game Blokus for the family, and it is thought-provoking and fun to play.

My dad opened an investment account for me and I transferred my savings into it, hopefully it'll do well, but I'm just happy to get my money away from the bank where it was getting crap in interest.

You're the Man Now, Dog!

I linked to this site last post, but I didn't really get into it. YTMND.com is a website that showcases a specific type of webpage, one generally with a looping song, a tiled picture/looping video, and flying text. It was inspired by some guy who did something and everybody copied him.

It's got some pretty funny stuff. Among my favorites:
Indiana Jones Can't Stop the Rock
Conan
Tom Cruise kills Oprah
I love bell peppers
Cats gives Base advice
Picard Song

Now the interesting thing about YTMND.com is that most everything is a spin-off of something else. Anything new inspires several copies:
Rock
Conan

Not the funniest thing in the world, but it's a good thing to play with while bored.

Does Not Change Facial Expressions

A few of these things have been floating around the internet. They're pretty funny, but they make me want to take a bunch of pictures and find out how to make one with myself in it. I think that'd be cool.

Girl on ABS
Paris Hilton
Darth Vader
A girl from YTMND.com

I think all it would take is a couple different pictures (5-10) of me in different places with different clothes and some program to splice it together.

Warning: Don't have more than one of those open at once, the songs all play at once and screw with your head.
